ORA Sharknose Goby

Description

The Sharknose Goby originates from the Western Atlantic Ocean. In the wild, they set up cleaning stations that other fish will swim to so that they can get parasites cleaned off of them. Although these Sharknose Gobies are captive-bred by ORA, they will still clean fish in your aquarium. They don’t do this out of the goodness of their hearts, but rather as a source of food. While parasites are what they eat in the wild, you can feed them a wide range of prepared frozen foods, dry aquarium foods, or better yet, live food if you can.  Sharknose Gobies look similar to Hybrid Cleaner Gobies but have more yellow. Unlike the Hybrid Cleaner Goby, the yellow stripes on the Sharknose Goby connect on top of its head. Also, the yellow stripe goes all the way down the body and is outlined by blue rather than fading to blue. They are generally welcomed by large fish because they are recognized as cleaner fish. They can be kept in both small nano tanks and larger tanks. Avoid keeping multiple of these fish together unless they are a mated pair.

• Color: Mostly black body with a transparent white underside. Horizontal yellow stripes connect on top of the head and run down the body on either side. Past the head, the yellow stripe has a thick light blue outline.
