Description
Forktail Blenny (Meiacanthus atrodorsalis)
The forktail blenny (also known as the eyelash harptail-blenny) is a small, elegant fish that is suitable for many smaller saltwater tanks. The species is peaceful and gets along well in small groups (generally a single male with a harem) when housed together in larger aquaria. It easily adapts to captive conditions. Like most other fang blennies, it is very tough (especially captive-bred specimens) and is disease-resistant. Not at all picky about food, it accepts most types of of aquarium diets. It remains at a relatively small size and therefore is appropriate for some nano tanks.

Forktail Blenny Species Information
Meiacanthus atrodorsalis can be found in the Western Pacific Ocean. While it prefers open water environments, it sometimes ventures into shallower nearshore parts. Always handle this species with care!
Benefits of Aquacultured Marine Livestock
Aquacultured fishes offer a huge advantage over wild-caught specimens. For example, when bred and raised under captive conditions, they adapt better to aquarium life. They are also less likely to carry disease. Even more, aquacultured specimens can better tolerate shipping stress. Most notably, by purchasing aquacultured forktail blennies you support the aquaculture of marine organisms and help to make our hobby more sustainable!
