Description
Red Ogo Gracilaria Live Macroalgae
The Red Ogo (Gracilaria Parvispora) plant is an exceptionally beautiful macroalgae. Between bright red and burgundy in hue and graced with short bushy fronds, it adds a splash of color and texture to any refugium or saltwater aquarium. Red Ogo Gracilaria is a fast growing and hardy macroalgae when kept under proper conditions. It is also great for nutrient export in saltwater aquarium systems. Additionally, it is prized by many herbivorous fish keepers (especially tangs) as a healthy live seaweed food. Pro Tip: Red Ogo Gracilaria can be grown out in the refugium and new growth can be trimmed and fed to herbivorous fish as a tasty treat.

Love it! It’s growing nicely in the refugium. Golf Ball size is perfect size.

Love but we got the tennis ball size and its beautiful but huge. My tang has started to nip at it already she loves it. Thanks a bunch.

In my system, this stuff is far outpacing my Chaetomorpha.
I got a golf ball sized piece when I was cycling my tank. I set it up in a refugium with a Red + Blue LED on reverse light cycle.
Phosphates dropped from 0.50 to 0 in the span of 11 days! In the past month I have harvested roughly two softball’s worth of Red Orgo and still have a healthy chunk growing in the refugium.
My Tangs LOVE it way more than dried seaweed. I occasionally grab a piece from the refugium and put it on a clip. It doesn’t last long!

Ordered this twice…came in dead both times. I’d love to grow this in my fuge but the shipping process on this is horrendous. It comes in bone dry and smelling of putrid death.

Be wary about buying Reg Ogo especially in colder climates and other countries (I am in the UK)
Mine arrived white and near dead. SUch a shame as I was really keen on trying this in my macro algae tank.

Did not work as Macroalge for my tank. Extremely slow at removing nitrates did not remove phosphates at all. Had to replace with Ulva the Ulva grew so fast the red Ogo died. Also Tangs did not eat any of the Red Ogo when put in the main tank

it does not come in one piece, thousands of tiny pieces that will scatter everywhere in your tank the second it hits the water no matter what
Tommy –
YES…it comes in a million pieces sorta, but i just take a rubberband and strap it to a piece of live rock and leave it in my tank. I have 5 rocks that have Red Ogo strapped to it and ALL my tangs love it.

Loved this stuff, ulva took over my fuge so this was feed to my tang and fox face.

I love this stuff. Grows better than chaeto in my refugium (is nicer looking and smells better too), and my tangs and foxface love it when I trim some and put it in the tank.

Probably the best packaging I’ve seen to date for anything live! Further, the Red Ogo & Pom Pom I got was unbelievably healthy! They claimed a golf ball size but that must be a special golf ball made for giants. The jars were slam full of it and at least 3 times what I was expecting. If it goes sour from here it 100% on me being a newb.
