Description
Link’s Goby (Amblygobius linki)
Now here is a cool and interesting little fish. A naturally adaptable species made even hardier in aquaria through captive breeding, Link’s goby is perfect for the beginning saltwater fish keeper. Given its smaller size and affinity for mangrove habitats, the link’s goby is suited to certain types of refugia as well as the display tank. It can be kept in nano aquaria. In some cases, it will consume nuisance algae. It has a rather recognizable coloration, with three dark horizontal stripes over a white to cream background. Red markings may develop over the dorsal fin of mature individuals.

This species is distributed across the tropical Western Central Pacific from the Philippines and West New Guinea to southern Japan. It inhabits depths of a couple feet to around 30 feet. Benefits of Aquacultured Livestock
Aquacultured Link’s gobies offer a huge advantage over wild-caught specimens. For example, when bred and raised under captive conditions, they adjust more easily to aquarium life. They are also much less likely to carry disease. Better yet, aquacultured Link’s Gobies ( Amblygobius linki ) can better withstand shipping stress. And, by purchasing aquacultured fish you support the aquaculture of marine organisms and help to make our hobby more sustainable!
