Starry Goby (Asterropteryx semipunctatus)
Common from the Red Sea to Australia, the starry goby is the type species for its genus. Its coloration is somewhat cryptic, with a dusky background under a smattering of tiny, shiny blue spots. Spends much of its time close to rocky shelter. Because starry gobies are shy but active fish they like to feed often, so tanks with established copepod populations are most recommended.

Starry Goby Species Information
This species is distributed rather widely, occurring from the Red Sea to Hawaii and northern Japan to Western Australia. It is found in shallow, rubbly, algae-covered areas (lagoons and inner flats). Establishes a burrow in which it sleeps/hides. Found living either solitary or in small groups, the starry goby (Asterropteryx semipunctatus) is a great nano sized fish, suitable for any size reef aquarium!
