Description
The Semi Storm Clownfish is a designer clownfish from ORA. Designer clowns are produced using selective breeding. This means that these color morphs don’t exist in the wild. They are also captive-bred, which is a plus, of course. This clownfish is stunning with its unusual white colors. Despite its exotic looks, the care requirements for this fish are simple. As long as your aquarium is in the generally accepted range of parameters, this fish will do great. It is very hardy and tolerant of fluctuation in the water chemistry. It is an aggressive eater, as are all ocellaris clownfish. The Semi Storm Clownfish looks great in a pair. It can be kept in a pair with another Semi Storm clownfish or any other ocellaris clownfish. If you are going to get a pair of two different ocellaris variants, make sure to get them at different times to allow one to grow large first. The first one you get will be the large female, and the second will be the small male. Some hobbyists have kept groups of clownfish together, but it is recommended that you only keep a pair of the same species unless you have a considerably large tank. Like all ocellaris clownfish, the Semi Storm Clownfish can be hosted by an anemone, but an anemone isn’t required.

More Information
While there are no wild variants of the Semi Storm Clownfish, there are wild ocellaris clownfish, which are the same fish other than the color. Captive-bred ocellaris clownfish such as the Semi Storm are hardier and more resilient to disease than wild-caught ocellaris clownfish. They are also better able to handle the stress of shipping and are better adapted for aquarium life. By purchasing captive-bred fish, you are helping the ocean by discouraging the harmful wild-caught trade and making our hobby more sustainable!
