ORA Onyx True Percula Clownfish

Description

This Onyx True Percula has the same care requirements as other percula clownfish from ORA. It is hardy and has simple care requirements. The main difference between this percula and regular percula clowns is the black coloration between the stripes. The black will be less apparent when the fish is younger, and more orange will show through. As it matures, black will develop more, becoming the dominant color. While percula clowns are similar to ocellaris clownfish, they are their own species. The difference between the two is primarily physical. For example, ocellaris clownfish have darker eyes, while percula clownfish have orange eyes. Percula clowns also have ten dorsal spines instead of eleven. Some say that percula clownfish are more aggressive, but ocellaris clownfish can have aggressive tendencies too. Both are reasonably peaceful with other tank mates, but they may be aggressive toward each other unless kept in pairs. Clownfish are most known for being aggressive towards hobbyists’ hands. The percula clownfish will choose many anemone species as hosts, though an anemone is not required. Overall, percula clownfish are one of the easiest fish to keep.
