Branching Green Star Polyp (Briareum sp.) Species Information
Briarium is widely distributed across the Indo-West-Pacific and has also been reported in the Caribbean. They often predominate in silty but brightly lit habitats (it tends to grow in the shade in clear waters). Species such as this with tall, purple calyces are frequently confused with Pachyclavularia.
The Benefits of Farmed Branching Green Star Polyp
Captive-bred livestock provides a huge advantage over wild-caught specimens. Because they are cultured in captivity, they are better adapted to living in an aquarium, tend to be more disease resistant and introduce fewer pests. They are also better able to handle shipping/acclimation stress. By purchasing captive-bred Branching Green Star Polyps, you are supporting the aquaculture of marine organisms and helping to make our hobby more sustainable!
