Description
The Pajama Cardinalfish originates from the Indo-Pacific, but the specimens sold here are captive-bred by ORA. In fact, ORA is the first hatchery to breed this fish successfully commercially. It has an array of different colors and patterns. The anterior half of the fish is mostly yellow-green. The posterior half is white with elegant tan spots. The halves are separated by a black, belt-like segment. The fish has distinct bright red eyes that add even more to its beauty. The Pajama Cardinalfish is best kept in an aquarium of 20 gallons or larger with plenty of places to hide. Providing ample hiding places is important because it allows the fish to feel more comfortable in the aquarium, encouraging it to swim out in the open. This fish can be kept in small groups if the aquarium is large enough. If you want to house a group, be sure to add them all at the same time. If added at different times, there will likely be issues with aggression. You should house this fish with other peaceful fish. The Pajama Cardinalfish is great for reef aquariums. They will not bother corals or inverts and get along well with other fish.

More Information
Buying captive-bred fish such as this Pajama Cardinalfish is great for you and the ocean. Captive-bred fish are hardier and more resilient to disease than their wild-caught counterparts. They are also better adapted for aquarium life and better able to handle the stress of shipping. Purchasing captive-bred fish helps the ocean because it discourages the harmful wild-caught trade while supporting the captive-bred industry. This makes our beloved hobby more sustainable.
