Description
ORA Blue Polyp Capricornis
There’s a lot to love about the plate-forming SPS–particularly certain varieties among the genus Montipora. These beauties are generally easy to grow and even to propagate. They are also rather fast growing! They tend to form flat, overlapping plates that spread to build structures that look like crumbled sheets of paper over the rockwork. This mostly 2-dimensional form contrasts nicely with those branchy “sticks” such as staghorn Acropora varieties. The ORA Blue Polyp Capricorn is a light green monti that has blue polyps. For those who dig fluorescence, strong actinic lighting makes the polyps glow like neon blue polka-dots.
The ORA Blue Polyp Capricornis is happiest with a middle-top tank placement, medium-high lighting and moderate-strong water flow. Its best to mount this species lower in the aquascape to avoid shading any photosynthetic plants or animals growing beneath it.

The Benefits of Farmed Blue Polyp Capricornis
Captive-bred corals offer significant advantages over their wild counterparts. Because they are grown in captivity, they are specially adapted to living in an aquarium. They are generally more disease resistant, harbor fewer pests and are better capable of handling shipping/acclimation stress! By purchasing cultured Blue Polyp caps, you support the aquaculture of marine organisms and help to make our hobby more sustainable.
