ORA Turquoise Staghorn
Many reefkeepers appreciate slender-branched, upwards growing SPS corals (oftentimes a “staghorn” type of Acropora), as they invoke the likeness of a colorful crown resting atop the hardscape. The ORA Turquoise Stag (Acropora striata) is an exceptionally handsome, openly branching staghorn that forms attractive colonies. Its stocky branches bear numerous cupping corallites. While it tolerates a broad variety of lighting conditions, this strain develops a stunning turquoise coloration under very intense lighting. While it is very much turquoise in overall coloration, it is somewhat greener at the base and bluer at the tips; moreover, it is darker at the base and lighter at the tip. In some conditions, polyps may be a lovely light blue. Because it grows more vertically then horizontally, leave plenty of growing space above it. The ORA Turquoise Staghorn is a rather fast-growing coral that is relatively easy to keep.

The Benefits of Farmed Turquoise Staghorn
Captive-bred livestock offers a huge advantage over wild specimens. Because it is cultured in captivity, it is better adapted to living in an aquarium. It tends to be more disease resistant and harbors fewer pests. It is also better able to handle shipping/acclimation stress! By purchasing captive-bred Turqoise Stag, you support the aquaculture of marine organisms and help to make our hobby more sustainable.
