ORA Miami Orchid Acropora
With a just little bit of experience successfully keeping some of the hardiest SPS corals, reef aquarium hobbyists are rewarded with the opportunity to acquire some real show-stoppers. The fast-growing but moderately difficult Miami Orchid is a seriously beautiful branching staghorn Acropora from ORA. For those reefers who love corals that look extra shaggy when the polyps are extended, this is your strain! And its colors (which are somewhat variable depending upon environment) are absolutely divine. With its very faint golden brown base and vivid purple growth tips, it has become a true classic–and indeed it is declared to be a favorite among the coral farmers at ORA. The brown base pigment varies in intensity under different light levels, nutrient levels, etc.
It is happiest at mid-upper tank placement under medium-high lighting with moderate-strong water flow.

The Benefits of Farmed Miami Orchid Acropora
Captive-bred corals offer numerous distinct advantages over their wild counterparts. Because they are grown in captivity, they are specially adapted to living in an aquarium. They are generally more disease resistant, harbor fewer pests and are better capable of handling shipping/acclimation stress! By purchasing cultured Miami Orchid acros, you support the aquaculture of marine organisms and therefore help to make our hobby more sustainable.
