Description
ORA Pom Pom Xenia
One well-known attribute of Xenia spp. corals is that they are very easily kept in aquaria. In fact, some say that they’re too easy to keep, either because they are not much of a challenge or even because they overgrow other slower-growing species. Well, we think these are not particular huge problems to have, especially in light of how interesting and unique this small soft coral can be (certainly in part because of their “pulsing” behavior). Some are additionally rather attractive. Take for example the ORA Pom Pom Xenia (also known as Red Sea Xenia); this strain has a soft pinkish-tan with white highlights. It grows in a more compact form than other in its genus, encrusting over any empty hard surface. The ORA Pom Pom Xenia can be placed at all tank heights under low-high light levels and moderate-strong water flow.

The Benefits of Farmed ORA Pom Pom Xenia
Grown under captive conditions, captive-bred livestock offers several big advantages over its wild counterparts. It tends to be more disease resistant and harbors fewer pests. It is better capable of handling shipping/acclimation stress and therefore is specially adapted to living in an aquarium. By purchasing captive-bred Xenia, you support the aquaculture of marine organisms and help to make our hobby more sustainable!
